Nurturing Creativity, Scientific Temper and Innovative Thinking
Kendriya Vidyalaya (OIL), Duliajan, is committed to fostering a culture of innovation, creativity, scientific inquiry and experiential learning among students. The Vidyalaya encourages learners to think critically, explore new ideas, identify real-life problems and develop practical solutions through collaborative learning and hands-on activities.
Our approach to innovation focuses on connecting classroom learning with real-world applications, promoting environmental responsibility, strengthening digital literacy and nurturing the spirit of scientific inquiry in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
1. Little Open Library: Learning Beyond the Classroom
The Little Open Library initiative encourages students to develop reading habits, explore new ideas and learn independently. By promoting easy access to reading materials and peer learning, the initiative supports creativity, imagination, communication skills and a lifelong love of learning.
2. Environmental Innovation and Sustainable Practices
The Vidyalaya promotes environmental awareness and sustainable living through activities associated with the Eco Club and Mission LiFE. Recent school updates have highlighted the importance of proper waste segregation through the use of colour-coded bins, responsible disposal of waste, cleanliness and recycling.
These initiatives encourage students to adopt environmentally responsible habits and understand how simple, practical actions can contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment.
3. Scientific Temper and Student Innovation
Students are encouraged to observe their surroundings, identify everyday challenges and develop innovative ideas with scientific and societal applications. The INSPIRE-MANAK scheme provides an important platform for nurturing original ideas among eligible students of Classes VI to X.
Through science-based activities, project work, model-making and problem-solving exercises, the Vidyalaya seeks to cultivate curiosity, logical reasoning, experimentation and a spirit of discovery among learners.
4. Digital Learning and ICT Integration
The Vidyalaya promotes the meaningful use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to enhance teaching-learning experiences. Digital resources, computer-based activities and technology-supported learning can help students develop computational thinking, digital literacy, research skills and an understanding of emerging technologies.
Students are also encouraged to practise responsible digital citizenship, cyber safety and ethical use of technology.
5. Creativity, Communication and Design Thinking
Creative activities such as drawing, speech competitions, project presentations and collaborative assignments provide opportunities for students to express ideas, communicate effectively and approach challenges from different perspectives.
The Vidyalaya encourages learners to develop confidence, teamwork, creativity and the ability to transform ideas into meaningful outcomes.
